A “How Well Do You Know Me Challenge” done by me and my boyfriend, enjoy ^__^
How it all started
So a lot of my friends and also people on Formspring have been asking me how I met Iskandar etc, well here’s a post specially made for it. Enjoy ;)
On the 9th of December, my birthday. I’ve got a Twitter mention from him wishing me this
It was quite surprising for me cos, he wasn’t following me at that point of time and we do not know each other at all. So for a stranger on Twitter to be wishing me that I felt quite shocked. So whatever.
The next day I decided to stalk him so I scrolled through his tweets and noticed how funny they all were, so I figured, why not I follow him. He then followed me back a few hours later and tweeted to me…..
We started to tweet each other eversince then. I was working during the month of December and I’m always waking up early to go to work. He, on the other hand, is a very early riser. He always wakes up around 9am plus usually the time where I’m heading to work. So he’s sort of my “company” whenever I’m going to work, we’re always tweeting each other and making jokes.
I started developing this “twitter crush” towards him but I didn’t wanna get my hopes high because I see him flirting with other girls as well. Then came a time where I decided to add him on Facebook so I went to search for his profile and added him and he posted this on my wall…
It was sort of an inside joke about the getting married part because there was this one time I was talking about how I wanted prata to be served on my wedding and what not. ANYWAY…
During the last week of December, I had a lot of free time because I wasn’t working. So I was bored and I tweeted “Anyone wanna Skype?” he then said he wants to and at that point of time I was so excited I swear LOL my twitter crush wants to Skype with me wtf how can I not be excited?!
It was a fun Skype session and it wasn’t awkward at all. That was the first time I heard his voice since we haven’t exchanged numbers yet until that night when we’re Skype-ing, he indirectly asked me “You have what’s app?” then I went “you can just ask me for my number you know” hahaha so I did give him my number, I didn’t see anything wrong with it so I did.
the last week of December 2011 and the first week of January 2012 involves a lot of me and him Skype-ing. We also What’s App-ed each other quite often until it came to a point of time where he suddenly asked me out.
His birthday was on the 11th of January and he just got his pay too so he told me he wanted to bring me out on a lunch date. I agreed and so we did.
“You look beautiful.” I remember him telling me that while we were walking to Suntec to have our lunch. I was shy and didn’t knew how to react so I just smiled. It was a wonderful first date despite a few awkward moments but it was all good :-)
To be honest I didn’t expect anything out of this first date. I thought he was like all the other boys that I’ve dated who left me right after our first date but no. As soon as we went seperate ways, he messaged me telling me he’s already missing me and that was when I had this feeling……. well, maybe……….. he likes me too. MAYBE.
We then went out for more dates like
Pastamania date
Cycling date
Movie date
Picnic date
Zoo date
and he also fetched me from work one of the days when I’m working and he’s having his off day. The amount of effort he puts in to always meet me made me have this feeling that I’m….. special. That I…… mean something in his life.
I started to feel confident that he’s seriously into me when he wanted to bring me to meet his mom. “Why?” I asked him. He replied “I want both of my loved ones to meet each other” and that was when I felt like whoa………
He never let any of his past ex girlfriends/dates meet his mom before so I felt really touched that I’m one of the first girls to be able to meet her.
The day finally arrived when I went to his house, his mom was so nice I swear. I chilled at his place for a while and we went out to eat and shop. Afterwards we both went home, I asked Iskandar did his mom say anything about me, and he replied
I felt so happy because it was the first time I met a boy’s mom and I’m glad it turned out well!
The whole dating process continued until March, he had this crazy idea for us to go to Universal Studios so we did. He insisted on paying the tickets, and to make it fair I treated us lunch.
We were at this restaurant in USS having our lunch when I told him “let’s make a vlog” like we always do, here it is by the way
I was speechless because it was totally unexpected. I thought he was jokingly asking me to be his girlfriend when he actually means it. It really caught me by surprise I swear.
From that point onwards, we were official. The thought of me being able to call him mine was really amazing. The thought of him now being MY boyfriend was just…. incredible.
I then received tons of wishes from people on Twitter to last long, I appreciate every single one of them, thank you so much everyone, you know who you are.
So finally, after two years of me being single and after three months of dating Iskandar…..
I hope this is worth the wait. And I hope we’ll go far, insyAllah amin.
